Correct pattern moquette for TK1623 found
After much research and hunting for samples, we have finally found a sample of the moquette which was used in 3rd class compartment stock after World War 2. Andrew Daniel made the discovery in a sample book of patterns at the National Railway Museum. This material is also suitable for the 3rd class compartments in CL 88339, and when restored, CK 18477.

May coach week
This was very well attended, with many people turning out over the course of the week to help out. Good progress has been made on both TK1623 and Fish van 75169 as a result. Many thanks to everyone who attended.
TK 1623
Good progress has been made on 1623, which with the exception of two corridor end panels, has seen all of the body panels stripped of old paint in preparation for filling, sanding priming and undercoating. On the corridor side of the coach, the centre body panel is now almost ready for undercoating, with the body panel at the south end, not far behind it. The body panel at the North end, and the panels on the compartment side of the coach are now ready, or nearly ready for the filling stage.
The corridor end panels which were manufactured a few years ago, to replace the orginal panels at the South end of the coach, were over the working week removed from storage, derusted, painted, drilled, dimpled and finally hung in place, so that for the first time in several years, 1623 has all of its body panels fitted back in place. Several Mk1 steam heat radiators and vales have been acquired, and these will now be renovated so that they are ready for fitting.

Dave Cullingworth and Andrew Daniel test fit the final body panel on 1623
Fish van 75169
Under the project management of Doreen Williams and the assistance of numerous helpers, restoration of this vehicle is moving along nicely. The Eastern side of the underframe has been derusted, primed, undercoated, and top coated, and all of the interior fixtures and fittings and both layers of rotten floorboards have been stripped out. This means that the whole of the underframe can now be accessed for derusting and painting. The lighting up pile at Newbridge will benefit, as all of the old floorboards are being disposed of there.

On-line fund-raising schemes
We have just launched several new schemes to help raise restoration funds on-line for the LNER Carriage Association on-line, with just few extra clicks. The new on-line fund raising schemes consist of two web shopping portals and two search engine schemes, and by using these schemes you can help raise money for us, without it costing you a penny!
Shopping Portals
The two shopping portals are buy.at and easyfundraising.co.uk. If you shop on-line, using either of these portals, then for every purchase you make, we receive commission on that purchase, whilst you pay the same amount as you would have, if you had made the purchase direct!
On-line shops available through the Buy At scheme include Amazon, Asda, CD Wow, E.on, Hertz, Ikea, More Than, National Lottery, Premier Inn, and many more. The complete list of participating stores, and what commission they offer, can be viewed on the site. This scheme doesn't even require you to register, all you have to do is go to http://buy.at/lnerca , and start shopping!!
On-line shops available through the Easyfundraising scheme include AA Travel Insurance, Argos, Blockbuster, iTunes, More Than, The Trainline, Thomas Cook, WH Smiths and Wickes. The complete list of participating stores can be viewed here . To use this scheme, you do need to register first, a process that only takes a few minutes and can be done here .
Search Engine Schemes
The two search engine schemes are www.everyclick.com and www.easysearch.org.uk . These schemes work by the web company donating some of the money they receive from advertising fees, for each search that is completed using the search portal.
