Carriage restoration is an expensive business and the LNERCA as a charity relies on donations and grants to fund its many projects. To supplement this income we have a small but growing list of sales items available online or by mail order. NYMR LNER 2008 Gala DVD

Filmed and produced by Simon Roberts, this two disc 210 min DVD covers the period 28^th March to the 6^th April 2008 the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s LNER Gala. This unique gala brought together for the first time in preservation three working A4 pacifics, Sir Nigel Gresley, Union of South Africa and Bittern along with V2 4471 Green Arrow, B1 61264, K1 62005, Q6 63395 and J15 65462, most shown hauling the LNER Carriage Associations Teak Rake. Filmed from many different locations this enjoyable DVD captures lots of the action and atmosphere of the gala. Also includes 75029 and D6700.

A “Must” for all carriage enthusiasts this 70 min DVD is an introduction to the LNERCA train, showing its development over several years through to 2007. Apart from the usual lineside shots (including extended sequences of Sir Nigel Gresley) each carriage is introduced with a carriage diagram and some restoration and interior views. This limited edition DVD features LNER A4 pacific No 60009 "Union of South Africa", filmed in 1984 on the York to Scarborough, "Scarborough Spa Express". Limited to only 25 copies this DVD is filmed and produced by Ian Harper of Silverlink films, each DVD includes a numbered certificate of authenticity and a bonus track of 60009 in the "Cambrian Mountain Express" also in 1984.

"Teaks on the NYMR" DVD

This DVD covers restoration activities over the last three years, the Gresley 100 events of 2005, and some of the first runs of our coaches during this time. Much of the dvd has been shot along the line with many clips taken in the wilderness of Newtondale out of reach of most people and shows runs of the LNERCA coaches as well as the coaches that visited from the Severn Valley Railway and the Scottish Railway Preservation society with a clip of a train of eight Gresley and Thompson Vehicles together, something not likely to be repeated for some time. Filmed by member John Reddish, 60 minutes digital quality with stereo sound.

These items are made from 60 year old teak panels salvaged from carriages under restoration, a chance to own a hand made item and a piece of railway history! Some items are stamped with the number of the carriage that carried the panel.

Teak paper knife

BCK 1083 Teak Paper Knife Limited Edition

Teak paper knife, 250mm long, hand carved, made from a teak panel carried by LNER carriage BCK 1083, scrapped at York in January 2007, only 35 knives available. Built at York in 1925 as a diagram 34 brake composite 1083 was used on the prestigious East Coast Main Line Services. It was rebuilt in 1942 as a BTK and renumbered 24680, but renumbered again in 1943 to 16847. On withdrawal 1083 went into the civil engineers fleet and ended its days as DE320645 in the permanent way sidings at Leeman road York, a familiar sight to users of the ECML north of York. Sold in 2007 its new owners only required the steel underframe and donated the teak body to the LNERCA for spares, thus 1083 was dismantled in January 2007, most of the teak frame and panels were salvaged for reuse. However a badly damaged panel yielded enough teak to produce just 35 paper knives, so buy yourself a piece of LNER history and help fund carriage restoration. Each knife carries a numbered label of authenticity.
