Dates for your Diary 2019
Working dates for December
It will soon be that time of year again so may we be the first to wish you an exceedingly happy Christmas and a grumpy new year. Back due to popular demand are the post-Christmas working days, you are welcome to retire to our un-festive shed and allow the turkey to settle with a guarantee of no mention of either Christmas or Brexit, and all for no extra charge! Demand is expected to be high so please book early, the best jobs of course will be saved for those bringing mince pies or better still offering to stand a round in the Sun Inn. As usual I will also be standing around!
The working days are:
If you have helped during this year, our grateful thanks are tendered. We have achieved much, the CCT 1308 is looking respectable again and BTO 43567 should be finished early next year, whilst ECJS RT 189 is progressing nicely and our workshop and stores facilities are improving.
The LNERCA extends a warm welcome to anyone who would like to come along and lend a hand. We have the luxury of a heated building in the form of the Atkins shed, adjacent to the car park at Pickering. The beauty of volunteering for the LNERCA, besides contributing towards preserving our heritage, is that numerous disciplines are offered, catering for all tastes and abilities. These range from woodworking, metalwork, upholstering, electrical, painting and varnishing, as well as general de-rusting of components and subsequent painting. Something for all everyone. There is good camaraderie and refreshments as well.
