The LNERCA extends a warm welcome to anyone who would like to come along and lend a hand. We have two locations where restoration takes place, the Atkins shed next to the car park at Pickering on the NYMR. and we also have a workshop – Unit 10 – at Kirby Misperton, four miles from Pickering on the A168 to Malton. The beauty of volunteering for the LNERCA, besides contributing towards preserving our heritage, is that numerous disciplines are offered, catering for all tastes and abilities. These range from woodworking, metalwork, upholstering, electrical, painting and varnishing, as well as general de-rusting of components and subsequent painting. Something for everyone. There is good camaraderie and refreshments as well.
